It was just last year when Kendall Jenner made waves during her premiere at the New York Fashion Week and strutted on the runway for big names like Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and Diane von Furstenberg. Today, however, she's fastly becoming one of the top models in the US, and she admitted that this is something that she wanted to do for herself - and will hopefully set her apart from her popular family.

The 19-year-old spoke to Allure Magazine about her first ever runway show for Marc Jacobs last year, and she said, "I didn't need it to be a family affair. As selfish as this sounds, I wanted the attention to be on me for five seconds rather than my family. If they were sitting front row, it would have been all about, 'Oh, Kim goes to Kendall's first fashion show!'"

Truly, Kim is the most popular in the Kardashian clan, constantly making it into entertainment news over the past few years, and despite her love for her sister, Kendall wanted some of the limelight to shine on her as well. She shared, "I love Kim, but for a minute I wanted it to be like, 'OK, this is [Kendall's] thing-she's taking it seriously.'"

Although Kendall and her younger sister Kylie were seen as the kids who appeared in "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" alongside their older sisters, Kendall said the show actually helped build up her confidence to become who she is today. She shared, "I still have a hard time looking at someone when I'm talking to them, and I get nervous. When I started getting in front of the camera a lot, I think my confidence started to come out. It took a minute, because I had to believe in myself."

And she did, she graced covers of magazines, strutted her stuff at the catwalk, and even became an ambassador for Estee Lauder, and she's going to have more time to let the spotlight shine on her.

When asked by E! News what she has in store for this year's Fashion Week, she said, "I've got a lot and you'll just have to see. I'm really excited, though; it's really crazy. It's been a year since I first started so it's really exciting." She also gushed, "It's mind-blowing that only a year ago it was my first ever real fashion week."

If her modeling credits is not enough proof of her confidence in front of the camera, the Instagram queen looked amazing in her magazine shoots, and can be seen flaunting her body in different swimsuits for her Allure Magazine March 2015 issue.

In her barely-there getup for Allure, it is also noticeable that the 19-year-old has no ink on her, to which she explained, "I have a really weird thing about 'forever.' And my sister Kim always said, 'Don't put a bumper sticker on a Bentley.'"
