Now that it has been confirmed by Sony and Marvel that Spider-Man will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon, fans have been wondering whether the superhero will come back as Peter Parker or as his Hispanic version, Miles Morales.

All of the Spider-Man films followed the life of Parker, which was portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in the movies. However, fans of the popular comic book superhero are suggesting that it's probably time for the franchise to turn into a new direction, specifically towards Morales, according to a report from Fox News Latino.

For those unacquainted with the character, Morales is the Spider-Man of the Marvel Ultimate Universe who also got his powers through a spider bite. He's "a half-black, half-Latino teenager who took the role of Spider-Man after Peter Parker's death at the hands of the Green Goblin," the news outlet noted. Morales, however, was hesitant to use his powers after Parker died.

Fox News Latino noted that the new installment of the Spider-Man franchise will be produced by Marvel, but the studio also stated that the superhero will appear in an unspecified Marvel film first.

Spider-Man interacted with Marvel's The Avengers in the comic book series, but was unable to do so in the movies because of licensing agreements, the news outlet explained.

As expected, fans are over the moon when the good news was announced. Everyone has been waiting for Spider-Man to return to his rightful place, and, as we mentioned before, a lot of supporters are saying that Morales could be the next version of the superhero. But if Marvel and Sony would go through with the Morales idea, who could they possibly cast in the role? Below is the list of potential actors to portray the Hispanic role, as compiled by ComicBook.

Donald Glover

The former "Community" star is a step closer to portraying Spider-Man. How? According to the ComicBook report, Glover recently voiced Morales in "Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors" cartoon. Despite being in his 30s, the actor still manages to convince everyone in his performance that he is a teenager just like Morales.

Aside from that, Glover also possesses the skill to convey a teenager's "excitement, fear, and anxiousness." The news outlet also noted that the actor is a known celebrity, which could help sell the new Spider-Man to viewers.

Alfred Enoch

Parker's Spider-Man has a depressing origin, but Morales' past was darker and more complex. According to ComicBook, the Hispanic teen has a criminal for an uncle, and his father strongly disapproves of his superhero capabilities.

With this kind of storyline, one should expect that the actor who would portray Morales can channel the darkness of the character within. "How to Get Away With Murder" star Alfred Enoch could be perfect for the role, given that he's also portraying an intense role on the ABC series.

Tyler James Williams

Despite his brief stint on "The Walking Dead," Tyler James Williams still managed to stand out in the midst of the large group of cast members. ComicBook reported that "he brings energy and excitement to a group that's a little more seasoned" and that he can "anchor a franchise property" even though he is surrounded by a bunch of other actors.

Marcus Scribner

Marcus Scribner's 15 years of age goes well with Morales' own age in the "Ultimate Spider-Man Comics." This fact could give Marvel a chance to allow Spider-Man to grow "in real-time with the story, as he did in the classic comics." The studio could also build a storyline with a perfect chronology that "shows Miles' physical and mental development."
