Landon Donovan is enjoying life outside soccer, with his fiancée by his side. Yes, he is now set to marry girlfriend Hannah Bartell.

In a recent Facebook post, Donovan announced the big news.

"Lastly and most importantly, I recently got engaged to the love of my life, Hannah. I have never been this happy and I'm excited for our future together!" said the soccer legend who was formerly married to TV actress Bianca Kajlich.

According to People, the 32-year-old all-time leading scorer retired from the Los Angeles Galaxy last year.

"I want to thank you all for your continued support as I've transitioned into a new chapter of my life. I've received many beautiful/powerful messages and gifts and I'm so incredibly grateful," he added on his Facebook post.

Donovan also detailed that his decision to retire was "everything I could have hoped for," noting that he has been to various trips all around the world.

"There are many more trips to come and I can't wait! I've also had more time with my family and close friends over the last 2 months than I had in the previous 16 years combined," Donovan added.

Aside from all these things that made him busy for the past months, the former soccer player said he also enrolled himself in college and started doing things which he is really passionate about.

Soon, wedding bells will ring for Donovan and Bartell who, according to Sports World News, is a hotel executive. The two have reportedly been dating for about a year and a half. Paparazzi photos of the couple have always showed how happy they are together.

It will be a meaningful second wedding for Donovan who got divorced with Kajlich in 2011. Sports World News noted that the two remain friends.

The soccer star is one of the most celebrated players especially in the United States since he was very instrumental in the Galaxy's victories. Bleacher Report said that he is fitting of the tag "greatest American soccer player of all time."

His retirement came as a shock to the entire soccer world because at 32, he chose to walk away from the sport which has meant a lot to him. But now, he has proved that he does not regret his decision, with all the good things happening in his life so far. Fans are now eager to witness another chapter in Donovan's journey, away from the soccer world.
