Former Olympian Athlete Bruce Jenner has been on gossip pages constantly these past few months due to the rumors of his interest in transitioning into a woman. However, as it turned out, this decision is not as out-of-the-blue for his former wife, Kris Jenner, than it is for the rest of the world.

According to Sugarscape, Kris actually knew that Bruce wanted to become a woman a decade ago, and in the interest of protecting her family, she made sure to keep his secret for the last ten years.

A friend of the family said, "Kris knew something was up, but it was 12 years into her marriage before she found him wearing her underwear and makeup. Kris was devastated, but Kendall and Kylie [who were seven and five at the time] were too young to handle it, so she stood by him and stopped the news coming out until Bruce was ready."

Bruce's transition has finally been confirmed after all these months of speculation. According to The Daily Mail, his mother, Esther Jenner, confirmed via Radar Online his desire by saying, "I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it. I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instils enthusiasm in people. He's gifted."

Still, despite of the fact that his sexuality is out for the public to scrutinize, Bruce still refrained from commenting on the curveballs thrown his way. It has been reported however, that he told his family about his plans last year. A source for Sugarscape shared, "Bruce told Kendall and Kylie last April. He wanted them to get used to the idea and lined up a dedicated therapist. They'd heard the rumors, but they were still shocked. Kylie ran out of the house while Kendall just went silent. Late, Brandon took Kendall for a walk on the beach to talk it through. Kim and Kourtney were so shocked, they both laughed. It's a defense mechanism. Brandon and Brody has known for a while and just wanted their dad to be happy."

With his transition finally confirmed, Hollywood Life reported that Bruce will finally publicly open up about his decision to become transgender and will have a sit down with ABC News Journalist Diane Sawyer in May.
