Since then, Motorola has explicitly announced which of its products are bound to get the newest Android operating system, the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Sporting the iconic Material Design, the software has caught the eyes of many for its emphasis on content focus and seamless notification system, among other features.
Following Android's roll-out confirmation in Nov. 3, Motorola didn't waste time to list its Lollipop prospects, which included the Moto X (1st & 2nd Generation), Moto G (1st and 2nd Generation), Moto G 4G LTE, DROID Turbo, Moto E, DROID Ultra, DROID Maxx and DROID Mini.
Based on Motorola's software upgrades page, we've gathered the latest operating system updates for major U.S. carriers. These are subject to change over time, but here they are as of the moment.
Moto X & Moto G
Since these models arrived in two generations, it's important to determine where your handset belongs. In case you haven't spotted it yet, simply go to Settings > About Phone. Look for the "Model number" field, which would indicate whether you own a second-generation model.
As told by Motorola, if the field only says Moto X or Moto G, then the device is a first-generation type.
