UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey did another brave and bold move in her life and career as she bared some skin in the SI Swimsuit issue with her being the first MMA fighter to appear in the magazine special.

The magazine, which will be released this week, will also feature tennis star Caroline Wozniacki, Sports Illustrated said.

Rousey and Wozniacki joined other models in a photoshoot on the Captiva Island in the Gulf of Mexico to complete the needed materials in the magazine.

"[Captiva Island] provides a classic Swimsuit backdrop: white beaches, calm waters and a laid-back island vibe," read a part of the feature on the SI magazine.

In an interview with USA Today, Rousey, who is set to face Cat Zingano in about three weeks at UFC 184, remembered that during the shoot she felt "freezing ass cold" but she was able to completely hide that in front of the cameras.

"I'm very good at hiding the pain on my face. I was in so much pain! Some crazy situations will make you learn how to smile through the cold," she added. She compared the discomfort she felt to the pain when she broke her hand at UFC 175 in July last year.

Despite having to endure the extreme cold during the shoot, Rousey said she is excited to see the outcome of the magazine shoot.

"The media directed at men with women is what women pay attention to the most. When it came to what standard I gave myself growing up and what I thought that I should look like, I was looking at the women that I could see the men I wanted found attractive. I thought if this is what the guys I like like, then I should look like that. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue wasn't like Playboy or all those others. It wasn't so fake and plastic," the UFC player said, as quoted by USA Today.

The magazine issue is not the first time that Rousey appeared sexy in a Sports magazine since she already appeared nude in the ESPN The Magazine's Body Issue three years ago, USA Today recalled. She, however, claimed that "she approached both experiences from completely different angles."

"The ESPN Body Issue is about celebrating the peak of human potential and the kind of form the human body, when specialized, can really look like. The Swimsuit Issue has a lot more [of a] sexual side to it, while I don't think the Body Issue is overtly sexual whereas Sports Illustrated is," Rousey told USA Today's For the Win. She added that she tried to look more like a fighter in the ESPN Body issue while she added a bit of weight to add more curves during the SI shoot.

Moving forward, Rousey is set to drop weight and improve speed for her upcoming fight with Zingano at the Staples Center on Feb. 28.
