With Derrick Rose out for the remainder of the season, the Chicago Bulls are expected to make deals before the midseason deadline, one of which is the trade that could land them Philadelphia 76ers swingman Evan Turner.

Turner, whose current contract with the Sixers is set to expire after this season, is viewed as a perfect fit for the Bulls, especially now that Rose is out after suffering a tear in his medial meniscus.

According to several NBA analysts, Turner will continue to produce big numbers for the Bulls as long as he gets the same amount of touches he's having right now with the rebuilding Sixers.

Turner, who averaged 21.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists this season, has already touched the ball more than 900 times this season while Rose had 832 touches before the injury.

"Turner, a Chicago native, would be an ideal fit for the Bulls to replace Rose. He isn't the player that Rose is, but he has shown over his career that he is best with the ball in his hands. With Rose now gone, there are plenty of touches open in Chicago," New Jersey News reported.

Making the Trade Work

Turner is due to pocket $6 million in the final year of his rookie deal with the Sixers. On the other hand, the Bulls have multiple trade assets, including rookie Tony Snell and Kirk Hinrich.

One trade scenario that could be explored is the Bulls' acquisition of Turner in exchange for Snell and Hinrich. The Bulls might include a draft pick to sweeten the package, knowing the Sixers have been collecting assets as part of the team's rebuilding plan.

"One possibility is a package involving Kirk Hinrich and Tony Snell, which would work financially. The Bulls might be willing to include a first round pick, since they are clearly a team trying to win now. It is also possible a third-team could get involved," wrote The Star-Ledger's Eliot Shorr Parks.

With the Bulls still very willing to contend this season despite the absence of Rose, Turner seems to be the perfect alternative to get them over the hump in a wide-open Eastern Conference playoff race.
