Currently among the most popular laptops in the world, Apple's MacBook Pro is getting even more popular as reports of its upgrade races across the Internet with a release date to match. According to Inquisitr, it is set to be released later this year, most likely during the Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco on June 8-12 at the Moscone Theater. As MacRumors noted, Apple usually announces their newest iOS and OS X versions during this time, as well as the release of keynote products.

Macworld also noted that the 2015 MacBook Pro, with its Retina display is packing up on the specs. Rumored to be available in two versions, the MacBook Pro 2015 may be available in a 13-inch version with 8GB of RAM, and a 15-inch version with 16GB RAM, but both supporting a 4K Touchscreen Display. News Everyday also noted that it will be lighter than the previous models with longer battery life, probably even featuring Intel's new Broadway chipsets with a Core M Processor to improve its power and energy efficiency.

There are also speculations that say there will be a 12-inch version of the popular laptop, but Inquistr noted that it could probably the result of a confusion with MacBook Air 2015, which still sees Apple adding the Retina Display to the portable notebook.

An entire media event for late February may showcase specifically for these gadgets. Inquistr quoted Apple Insider that stated, "Apple may be planning to hold a media event in late February to showcase the final version of its upcoming Apple Watch, and also debut a newly redesigned MacBook Air potentially with a Retina display. It's expected that the redesigned MacBook Air will sport a high-resolution 12-inch Retina display. There have also been claims that the device will feature the new, smaller, reversible USB 3.0 port."

Nothing is set in stone, however, regarding the next MacBook, because even though reports of its release are set for June, there are also rumors that the company is still waiting for Intel's Skylake processors, which are also lacking in details. With this in mind, the Christian Post noted that the release of the MacBook could be pushed to 2016 instead.

Not that Apple has to hurry up with the updates. Unlike most of the company's gadgets, the MacBook Pro hasn't been in need of a major upgrade since 2012, and so far, there have been little to no complaints, which could explain why the company hasn't been prioritizing it in its list of gadget upgrades. However, things could change in 2015, considering the updates from Intel that Apple could utilize for its computers.

What do you think should be improved for the next MacBook Pro model?
