Lil' Wayne is definitely back in the music biz with the release of not only his album, "Tha Carter V" but with a free one as well, called "The Free Weezy Album."

The rapper announced the news on Twitter early last Thursday, simply saying, "Free album. Free Weezy season. The Free Weezy Album. #FWA." This album came just after the release of his latest mixtape, which came out last January 20, called "Sorry for the Wait."

There has been no specific date with regard to the release, but it seems that most websites agree that it will likely appear online soon, maybe even within the next few days.

"Tha Carter V," on the other hand, has been delayed, as noted by Billboard, when problems came up with Cash Money Records allegedly not paying its artists the money owed to them. Wayne is among the celebrities suing the company and its co-founder, Bryan Williams. According to MTV, besides Wayne's $51 million lawsuit, Turk also sued the company for $1.3 million with claims of the company doing "a poor accounting job."

Time also noted that the lawsuit specifically stated that Cash Money and its CEO, Bryan Williams (also called Birdman) has withheld millions of dollars for the "Tha Carter V." Lil Wayne noted that he hasn't seen any of the money that the label promised him regarding the album. According to the magazine, the amount equalled to $8 million advance and another $2 million upon delivery, none of which came to fruition.

This is why the emcee managed to release a new mixtape and a free album after the suit, but leaving "Tha Carter V" delayed. As explained in the website Death and Taxes Mag, although it is likely that the rapper has already finished and has access to the long-awaited album, it is directly linked to the $51 million lawsuit and releasing it will result in the nullification of his fight in the massive legal battle.

It is not only the monetary problem that makes this lawsuit important for people in the music industry. As Death and Taxes Mag noted, the case will be a landmark one which will set a precedent for artists with similar problems with their labels. After all, the internet is an avenue of information and data that could give grey areas for many recording contracts --- areas that could enable artists to release their music without having to give funds to their labels.

Despite the fight with his Cash Money Records, though, it seems that Lil Wayne has enough funds to give his fans a free album, so that should tide them over until "Tha Carter V" can finally be released.
