Motorola's next entry in the smartphone arena is pegged to be "smarter" than any other device among its kind. BGR took note of the information from a Twitter user, known for his accuracy in previous "mobile-related leaks."

Attaching the iconic Motorola logo to his announcement, Ricciolo tweeted, "Are you looking for a FLAGSHIP 'SMARTER' than any others 'smartphones'??? I can give you an 'HINT'... Coming Soon..."

International Business Times is convinced that the Ricciolo's tweet referred to the new Moto X, successor to the current-gen model of the same moniker. However, with the hint indicating a "soon" release (or launch, perhaps), the outlet thought it was questionable, considering that the Moto X 2014 just arrived in September.

Of course, it would be too quick of a maneuver for Motorola to launch a sequel right away. In addition, it is no strange that the OEM has been fully-acquired by Lenovo (from Google) only in October.

With no official word coming from the manufacturer, we can never really tell how the Moto X lineup moves along the market this time around.

If we are to consider the recent "hint" as true, the soonest possible appearance for a new mobile handset could be at the Mobile World Congress. The event happens on Mar. 2 - 5 in Barcelona, Spain.

Needless to say, should the Moto X 2015 make appearance in the Spanish gathering, it could face serious competition against the likewise-rumored flagships from Samsung and HTC. In case you haven't heard, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, both rumored to come in more than one version, are expected to launch at the same event.

Although it's no longer eyed to appear at the MWC, the LG G4 is another potential competition cited by Ubergizmo.com.

Talks surrounding the Moto X 2015 are fairly understandable, considering all the success gathered by its predecessor. Media outlets such as Forbes, The Verge and Android Authority have all recognized the superiority of the current Moto X, so Ricciolo's hint may not be that impossible.

Last month, Phone Arena listed the upcoming Moto X as one of this year's most-anticipated smartphones. The outlet expected the device's release in September.

For a reference, the current Moto X comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED display (protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3), 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip, Adreno 330 GPU, 13 MP main camera, 2 MP front snapper, Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.4.4 KitKat support, GSMArena noted.

The phone owns a dimension of 140.8 x 72.4 x 10 mm (5.54 x 2.85 x 0.39 in), weighing 144 g.
