Kelly Clarkson just released a new single, and it's to remind us that things could get better, no matter how lousy they may seem to be.
Her new single, called "Heartbeat Song," opens to a bunch of sad 20-to-30-something-year-olds who meet the men and women of their dreams with the help of their pets, a coffee shop, and a dating app very similar to Tinder.
According to Yahoo!, Clarkson's song will make you fall in love all over again, and just in time for Valentine's Day, too, as the sugary-sweet song will lead you to believe in romance. In fact, it already gave a lot of people the warm fuzzies as "Heartbeat Song" is currently at No. 37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Time noted that at some point, the group of broken-hearted people coped with their heartache in questionable ways (like taking walks by the train-tracks and leaving creepy lipstick messages on bathroom mirrors) the video shows later on how each person can find love at the most unexpected ways, with the help of cute pets, mixed coffee orders, and the beautiful truth that you can definitely find love (and life) all over again.
The concept is not at all new, but its simplicity is what makes it irresistible. Besides, Clarkson has been inspired in writing this song - her life has a very similar plot. She's happily married now, but there was a time when she felt paralyzed with darkness after the birth of her daughter last June, to the point of losing her singing voice and believing her career to be finished.
She told Entertainment Tonight - "I literally had a moment where I cried and drank wine all day. I was like, 'Oh, God, I'm not going to be a singer anymore!' I was bawling to my husband and like, completely hammered, just going, 'Oh my God, it's over, I don't know what I'm going to do."
However, much as the characters in her song found love over again, she found her voice and managed to put together her seventh studio album, called "Piece by Piece" which will hit the stores on March 3.
Clarkson's album has, according to Time, a Jimmy Eats World kind of vibe, and if the song alone can't give you a warm fuzzy feeling, the video definitely will, whether you are single or in a relationship this coming Valentine's Day.
