The camp of Manny Pacquiao isn't ruling the possibility of finally facing undefeated American fighter and current pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr before the Filipino champion leaves the sport for good.

Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz believes the Filipino champ still has a great chance of forging a showdown with Mayweather Jr., saying it all depends on his performance in his upcoming bout against Brandon Rios in November.

"Floyd is always a possibility. We've always said that we would fight Floyd. I think that if Manny has an exciting and impressive win come November 24, then Floyd won't have any excuse if he really wants to fight," Koncz told the Ring TV.

However, Koncz admitted Pacquiao has to regain his 'mojo' back before entering in another round of talks with the five-time division champ. Pacquiao is coming off a down year after losing to Timothy Bradley (12-round split decision) and Juan Manuel Marquez (6th round TKO) last year.

Moreover, Pacquiao must also realize that he couldn't demand Mayweather's camp a 50-50 split on the prize money anymore, following his two straight setbacks.

Pacquiao, who once lorded over the welterweight division, has been reduced to an alternative contender, as young and explosive boxers like Danny Garcia, Andrei Ward and Floyd's next opponent Canelo Alvarez emerge as the hot commodities in the business.

Nevertheless, it remains fascinating to imagine how the top-two fighters of the past decade fare against each other inside the squared circle.

Pacquiao's combination of speed and power is a marvel to watch while Mayweather's dexterity and succinct defensive skills best describes what boxing really is.

With both fighters flirting into their twilight years, the supposed to be showdown of the century between Pacquiao and Mayweather may never happen at all. But then again, who knows what will happen next.
