Fans are eagerly awaiting Kendrick Lamar's upcoming studio album, and if rumors are right, fans will be able to get their hands on it sometime in July, Venture Capital Post reported.
But the release could be pushed back following issues of leaks. Venture Capitalist added that his record label TDE has kept mum on the release date, title, album cover and songs, keeping details under lock and key to prevent news from coming out prematurely.
Still there is a lot to look forward to as Lamar reportedly collaborated with the likes of Dr. Dre, Pharell Williams and George Clinton for the album. He is also said to be planning promotional events and performances for his album, such as the Wireless Festival with Avicii in July.
Aside from Lamar, here are some of the other highly anticipated albums coming out this year.
1. Rihanna
The Barbadian singer is getting ready to unleash her eight studio album, codenamed "R8," and has already kicked off promotions when she released the music video for the lead single "FourFiveSeconds," which features Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney, according to HipHop Hollywood.
The song will be performed for the first time ever during the upcoming Grammy Awards on Sunday, and after which, fans will hopefully get more news on Riri's new album.
Riri has also collaborated with numerous artists, such as Sam Smith, Ty Dolla $ign, Ne-yo, Drake and DJ Mustard, according to Paper Mag. Kiesza even claimed that the singer recorded some of her songs, while rumors have it that "World Peace" and "Burritos" are some of the tracks that are included in the album.
2. Drake
Drake's already rumored to be working with Rihanna, but he's also getting ready for his own album, the upcoming "Views From the 6," according to HipHopDx.
Hints of the album first appeared when the number "6" flashed repeatedly on screen during Drake's performance in August at the OVO Fest in Toronto. Following that, he found some of his songs being leaked online, one of which was the rumored title track. The songs still proved popular though, HipHop DX said, and Drake still ranked on the charts, proving how much fans await more songs from the performer.
There has been no set release date for the album yet, but it's said to possibly come out in the spring.
3. Tyga
It's been a trying year for the rapper, whose upcoming fourth studio album "The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty" was pushed back almost a year following his attempts to exit his record label Cash Money, according to Realty Today.
Not only that, but just recently, the album was delayed even more from its Jan. 27 launch date pending further disagreements. Now the status of the album is hanging in the air and Tyga continues to struggle with negotiations and possibly completely leaving his label.
While fans await Tyga's fate, they can still look forward to his collaboration album with Chris Brown, "Fan of a Fan 2," which is set to come out on Feb. 24. The duo recently released the music video for their lead single "Ayo," according to RapUp.
4. One Direction
The British boyband launched their fourth studio album "Four" in December to massive success and are just about to begin their "On the Road Again" Tour. However, there are already talks of a fifth album in the works.
Last month, member Liam Payne was spotted heading to the studios and an insider stepped up to reveal that the boys are "itching to get back to the studio," according to Metro.
The insider said that there were questions about the timing, but that there was never any doubt that they would release a fifth album. They may be working with frequent collaborators Julian Bunetta and Wayne Hector and are probably planning to add their own material to the album, Metro added.
The band is still too busy to sit down and talk about it, but the insider claimed it's likely to come out later in the year, sometime around Christmas.
