Rihanna is gearing up to release her eight studio album and to excite fans, she recently released the official music video of her first single "FourFiveSeconds" featuring Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney, HipHop Hollywood reported.
The song "FourFiveSeconds" was originally released a few weeks ago, while the official music video was released just on Tuesday. It gives fans a glimpse of an emotional Rihanna, as she sings the lines, "But I just can't apologize / I hope you can understand."
Appearing alongside Rihanna in the three-minute, black and white MV was McCartney, who could be seen playing the guitar, and West. West showed off some of his dance moves and sang along with Rihanna, "Now I'm four, five seconds from wildin' / And we got three more days 'til Friday."
All three artists were even wearing matching denim outfits and hanging out in the stark white set without any extras or outfit changes, according to Business Insider.
During an interview with Rolling Stone last week, Rihanna shared that the idea for the music video actually came from West. She said, "Kanye came up with the idea of doing just some real street denim, all-American type look. Denim never goes out of style. It's iconic, just like the f*cking Beatles."
The music video was shot in New York City and headed by Dutch directors and photographers Vindoodh Matadin and Inez van Lamsweerde, who recently photographed the cover of "Vulnicura," the new album of Icelandic singer-songwriter Bjork, according to Rolling Stone.
After the reveal of the music video, Rihanna and West were both spotted performing in Glendale, Arizona, at the pre-Super Bowl party. However, they did not sing the song without McCartney.
Instead, the world debut performance of "FourFiveSeconds" will be seen at the upcoming Grammy Awards on Sunday by all three artists, Rolling Stone added.
There is no release date set as of now for Rihanna's eighth album, which is rumored to be called "R8." Reps for Rihanna did inform Rolling Stone though that "FourFiveSeconds" will be appearing on both Rihanna and West's upcoming albums.
Rihanna called it the first song fans will hear from her new album, while West has been vague about the status of his studio effort, Rolling Stone further reported. During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres for her show, he said, "We're still trying to find it, trying to find that vibe."
Rihanna's "R8" will feature more collaborations with other artists aside from West and McCartney, as previous reports claimed she was working with Drake, Ty Dolla $ign, Ne-yo, DJ Mustard, Sam Smith and Kiesza, who claimed that Rihanna recorded two or three songs from her, according to Paper Mag.
Some songs that are rumored to be appearing are titled "World Peace" and "Burritos."
