The next all-new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" promises to be interesting as Sheldon learns to cope with disappointment after his accidental contribution to science is disproved. However, fans of the CBS sitcom will have to wait to Dec. 5 to see the new episode.
In the upcoming episode, which is titled "The Discovery Dissipation," Leonard and Amy will help Sheldon cope with the shame he's feeling. Just when he finally starts to come to terms with the scientific breakthrough that he discovered by accident, Sheldon will end up having it disproved by his roommate who he considers to be beneath him.
While Sheldon was humiliated by the accidental nature of his discovery, it looks like his embarrassment will get even worse, notes Hypable.com. In one promotional photo, it appears that NPR host Ira Flatow (who will play himself in the episode) will disprove his accidental theory. As we can see in other stills, Sheldon's off-again, on-again nemesis Wil Wheaton (also playing himself) will bolster Amy's attempts to cheer up her sullen boyfriend. Plus, there will be trains. In the meantime, Raj is forced to stay with Howard and Bernadette for a week.
In addition to Wil Wheaton, the episode also features John Ross Bowie playing Barry Kripke, Sheldon's scientific rival. These are the two's first appearances this season, notes CarterMatt.com.
Because "The Big Bang Theory" will take a one-week hiatus this week, the upcoming episode will air on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.
