Katy Perry's Super Bowl Halftime performance was a hit, with a giant tiger, dancing sharks, and fireworks making a spectacle, and with guest stars Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliot making a bang. But who are we kidding? Of course, it was the left shark that was the MVP of the performance, if not for his hilarity alone.

Then, there also happened to be the big debate on how the performance went, audiences seemed to be in two minds about it, others saying that it roared, while others believing that it was a snoozefest. CNN noted tweets of mixed reactions from the audience, and while others appreciated her performance, others mocked it, asking about "Transformers," "Hunger Games," and comparisons of NBC's famous "The More You Know" star.

However, it seems that there's bigger news backstage than on, and it involved a photo of a smiling Katy with Missy Elliot - and John Mayer.

Which then prompted the age-old question: Is John the one who got away? After all, according to The Huffington Post, the pair is said to have reconciled almost a year after they called it quits for the third time.

A source for Us Weekly said that Mayer had been waiting for the Super Bowl Halftime performer backstage to congratulate her performance.

This isn't the first time that they were seen out together since their last split though, the on-again-off-again couple was seen on a double date with "Girls" star Allison Williams and her fiancée, Ricky Van Veen in LA last January, where, according to People magazine, they did some light PDA, mostly greeting each other with kisses and holding hands throughout the night.

There is something about Perry's exes being friendly to her though. Her most recent ex, Diplo, had no hard feelings about her, and even sent her a congratulatory message after her Halftime Special, sharing a photo of her performance, the caption saying, "@Katyperry murdered it."

According to CNN, her ex-husband, Russell Brand, even wished her luck via Twitter, saying, "Super Bowl may be baffling to Brits but half time show will be amazing. Good luck KP."

But back to Perry and Mayer, it looks like the couple is very happy these days - their smiles, despite the kind of blurry photo, are enough proof of their happiness.
