On the latest episode of "Revolution," Aaron's powers allowed him to escape imprisonment at the hands of the Patriots.
In "Everybody Says I Love You," Aaron's (Zak Orth) powers allow him to knock his captors unconscious and escape. Later, the Patriots awake and are ready to hunt down Aaron and his girlfriend. Although they all want to escape, Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) want to go back for Gene (Stephen Collins).
Monroe (David Lyons) then saves Miles (Billy Burke) and the rest from being captured. However, Miles is ailing due to an infection from a wound, and he doesn't want to leave his family. It's clear than Monroe has to stay to help find Aaron, or he will never know where his son is.
Meanwhile, Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) and Jason (JD Pardo) are following Roger Allenford. They are traveling on a train when it stops to pick up more passengers. Neville goes to check out who boarded, and one of the passengers turns out to be his wife--who he thought was dead--with her new significant other. Neville's wife says he thought they were dead, and got remarried to ensure her survival.
She advises him against killing the president. Instead, she comes up with a plan through which they can infiltrate the Patriots and rise through the ranks.
Back in Texas, Aaron awakes in a store with Cynthia (Jessica Collins), who is unconscious. Aaron sees a little boy in the store who tells Aaron that he came to the store on his own volition. However, when Cynthia awakes, she cannot see the little boy that Aaron is talking to. It turns out the boy is the nannites in an artificial intelligence simulation. The boy tells Aaron that they want to help their creator, a.k.a Aaron, by carrying out what Aaron is thinking. Aaron tells him he wants them to stop igniting fires when the Patriots are near.
At the end of the episode, the rest of the team finds Aaron, but they end up surrounded by Patriots. Rachel and Miles get separated from the group, and as Miles is slipping into delirium, he tells Rachel how much he loves her.
Dr. Horn (Zeljko Ivanek) then finds Aaron and Cynthia, and shoots Cynthia out of spite. The little boy arrives again, but it's too late: Cynthia's dead.
Aaron tells the boy to kill them all, which he does. However, he refuses to heal Cynthia.
When Revolution returns in January, Charlie and Monroe's complicated relationship may continue to evolve. Executive producer Rockne S. O'Bannon admitted to TVLine that their odd chemistry "is really quite interesting. So there's a potential for that."
But will they ever get together? He added: "I'd hate to say that it couldn't happen, but obviously there's a lot of things stacked against it. There's a creepiness factor to it that is on the one hand creepy, and on the other hand is maybe worth exploring. But the sparks between them, that low-level spark, is definitely something we're very cognizant of."
When "Revolution" returns in January, a new plot will be waged against the Patriots.
On the next episode, called "Three Amigos," "Neville and Julia mount a new plot while Aaron quests after the nanites. Kim Raver guest stars."
"Three Amigos" airs Wednesday, Jan. 8 at at 8 p.m. on NBC.
