On the latest episode of "Nashville," Peggy's fake pregnancy took a drastic turn and Scarlett continued to be unsure of herself.
In "Hanky Panky Woman," the police show up at Rayna's (Connie Britton) door just as she's about to leave to join Luke's (Will Chase) tour. They were sent by Jeff (Oliver Hudson), who has a court order commanding her to turn over the masters for her new album--or she goes to jail. Rayna reluctantly hands over rights.
Later, Jeff upsets Scarlett (Clare Bowen) right before she goes onstage, which yields an epically bad performance. It's so terrible that people start booing and throwing things, and Scarlett runs offstage crying. Rayna saves her by taking her back out onstage and speaking to the crowd to mitigate the embarrassing situation. Although Scarlett gets through her set, she later takes out her anger on Gunner (Sam Palladio).
Some poolside songwriting with Gunnar gives Scarlett more confidence, and she's able to perform the next night without a hitch. However, she later calls her mom, saying that she's not sure she's cut out for the music industry.
Rayna also performs Gunnar's new song, "Ball and Chain" with her new love interest, Luke. During their performance, Deacon (Charles Esten) says to Scarlett: "I ain't dead, and I ain't done." Deacon may still be planning to get back into music.
Meanwhile, Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) makes it clear that she is not interested in having sex with Olivia, nor in having a three-way with Olivia and Charlie (Charlie Bewley). Juliette confronts the Wentworths over dinner that she has no interest in them or their shallow selves. Yet, Charlie is upset that Juliette thinks he's vapid, so he confesses his real love for her.
Peggy (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) then ends her fake pregnancy lie after marrying Teddy (Eric Close) by faking a miscarriage with pigs blood. Later, she cries and tells him she knows he only married her because she was pregnant. Although that's the truth, he denies it.
On the next episode, "I'm Tired of Pretending," Rayna will be torn in two different directions and Juliette will feel threatened by her new rival.
The synopsis reads: "Maddie wants to spend more time with Deacon and Teddy begins to feel like he's being replaced. Rayna is struggling to strike the right balance with the two dads and their fatherhood responsibilities. Meanwhile, Lamar makes a plea to Rayna to secure Tandy's support as a character witness. Charlie has declared his love for Juliette but she couldn't be more distracted by the fact that Layla's career is stealing some of her spotlight. Zoey and Avery make plans to visit Scarlett on the road in an effort to boost her spirits, though that feeling may be short-lived."
