The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to launch in Sept. 2015, International Business Times reported. This appears to be the same time when the current-gen Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was announced -- at the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) Berlin last year.

For some, it may be too early to hear about the Galaxy Note 5, but rumors were quick to surface nevertheless. As told by ValueWalk, the Galaxy Note 4 was "probably" the best Samsung device of 2014, so the hype for its successor is fairly understandable. The outlet, however, believes that the new gadget comes out in August.

We've curated the loudest industry speculations surrounding the Galaxy Note 5, and compared them against the established Galaxy Note 4. Again, these Note 5 reports are to be taken with a pinch of salt, unless Samsung makes a confirmation.

Display

Back in November, GSMArena took note of a tip, which claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 6-inch screen. In addition, the device was noted to be Samsung's first phone sporting 4K AMOLED display (density of 743 ppi).

4K is essentially UHD (Ultra High Definition) and it speaks of a 3840 x 2160 pixel resolution -- four times that of 1080p Full HD.

If the rumor holds truth, the Galaxy Note 5 is certainly ahead of its predecessor. The Galaxy Note 4 arrived with a 5.7-inch QHD (Wide Quad High Definition) Super AMOLED screen, packing a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Camera

PC Advisor cited reports of a 16 or 21 MP main camera for the Galaxy Note 5, while its front snapper is said to be 5 or 6 MP. The outlet says users will be able to capture full HD videos.

The Galaxy Note 4's rear camera is 16 MP, featuring Smart OIS support, Fast AF and Live HDR (Rich Tone). Its front camera packs 3.7 MP with two selfie modes: Selfie (90º) and Wide selfie (120º).

Processor and RAM

According to Trusted Reviews, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to ship with Qualcomm's 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor or a newer chipset. The source predicted that an Exynos variant comes out "in certain markets." Four GB of RAM and microSD support were also expected.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 came with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 chip, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The device also packs microSD support up to 128 GB.

Weight, Battery & Operating System

The Galaxy Note 5 is tipped to weigh between 170 and 190 grams, according to thegalaxynote5.com. The source also listed the possible inclusion of 3400-3900 mAh battery and 2G, 3G & 4G LTE Cat 6.0 Network support. Android 5.0 Lollipop or 6.0 Android M support was suggested.

The current-gen Galaxy Note weighs 176 grams. It is powered by 3220 mAh Fast Charging battery. The smartphone supports 2.5G, 3G and 4G networks. As of press time, users are navigating via Android 4.4 Kitkat, but the Samsung Galaxy Note is among the many devices scheduled to receive the Lollipop update.

Additionally, the following features are envisioned by thegalaxynote5.com for the Galaxy Note 5: new battery saving mode, metal body, eye scanning technology, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a water and dust-proof hardware.

As it is the new Note, a new functionality for the S Pen was also hinted.

Price

The upcoming device is expected by thegalaxynote5.com to retail "around $1000."
