From one Briton to another, Jamie Dornan and Robbert Pattinson have established a relationship together as they navigate their way as sex gods in Hollywood.
In an interview with Variety, Jamie Dornan, who will star in next month's "50 Shades of Grey" admitted that he has been given insight from "Twilight" star, Robert Pattinson. He said, "I've been around Rob long enough to see what it's been like for him... I don't know if it's been a benefit to witness that. Whatever that is."
E! Online reported that Jamie and Rob became friends after "50 Shades" filming last year, and the 28-year-old actor was the inspiration for author EL James to write her erotic trilogy. With that knowledge, it is impossible not to compare the two bestsellers against each other.
However, Jamie admitted that no matter what he and Rob spoke of, his experience won't be quite like the Rob's. Dornan added, "it's not the same thing. We're not the 'Twilight' franchise. We're a different thing. Whatever my situation is, it's going to be different from Rob's. They are incomparable.'
When he spoke about his experience at the Golden Globes, Dornan revealed that many of his colleagues warned him of a changed life upon the release of his kinky new film. He shared, "I'm astonished at how many people are telling me my life is going to change. Everyone that I meet, especially in L.A. People who run studios or other actors or people who are strangers. Everyone has been saying that to me: 'Are you ready?' I don't have a good answer to that, because I don't know what I'm meant to be ready for. Whatever happens, happens. I'll just roll with the punches."
Although he may seem ready to take on the stardom, Jamie had to learn the hard way how dangerous having a social media following could be, something that he should maybe have picked up from Rob. After he downed too many vodka shots in December, he admitted to drunk tweeting, saying, "I woke up the next day, and I'd seen I'd tweeted the word 'Christmas' at around 1 in the morning. I don't know if I planned on saying more-like, 'Christmas is a time of reflection'. It made me wish I didn't know my Twitter password and I wasn't able to get on and do stuff like that."
Jamie will be appearing alongside Dakota Johnson in "50 Shades of Grey," which will be released in theaters on February 13.
