Manny Pacquiao has been in many spectacular fights, for almost two decades, which have kept boxing fans on the edge of their seats. Here is a look at Pacquiao's top five most important bouts.

Manny Pacquiao vs Marco Antonio Barrera I (November 15, 2003)
At the time, Marco Antonio Barrera was considered by many to be one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, while Manny Pacquiao was a young upstart looking for his first major challenge. With trainer Freddie Roach telling his young pupil to disrespect the champion, Pacquiao steamrolled Barrera, in front of a partisan Texas crowd, forcing the Mexican champion into a brawl with the young unknown Filipino fighter, which ended with Barrera's corner throwing in the towel and Pacquiao winning The Ring featherweight title.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez I (May 8, 2004)
After making a name for himself at the expense of Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiao defended his version of the featherweight title against Juan Manuel Marquez. Pacquiao put Marquez down three times in the first round but the Mexican fighter bounced back, using his powerful counter-punches to keep the young Filipino fighter at bay with the bout ending in a controversial draw, the start of a long feud that would span almost a decade.

Manny Pacquiao vs Erik Morales II (January 21, 2006)
After moving up in weight class, losing his first match to Erik Morales in 2005 for the Super Featherweight title, Pacquiao stood toe-to-toe with the Mexican legend, knocking Morales down for the first time in his career in the second round and later in the sixth. Pacquiao would go on to knock out Morales in the tenth round, handing Morales the first knock out defeat of his career.

Manny Pacquiao vs Juan Manuel Marquez II (March 15, 2008)
In the long awaited rematch, both pugilistic warriors stood toe-to-toe, cutting each other up during the fight. Marquez buckled Pacquiao with a hard counter-punch that almost sent him down but the Filipino fighter stormed back, knocking Marquez down in Round 3 in what turned into a 12-round brawl which Pacquiao won by split decision.

Manny Pacquiao vs Oscar De La Hoya (December 6, 2008)
Moving up in weight to the welterweight division, many were unsure if Pacquiao could handle the taking blows from heavier fighters at that weight class, going into the his match against Oscar De La Hoya, even with De La Hoya being past being prime. Pacquiao completely exposed De La Hoya with his speed and power, proving to be too fast for the aging former Olympic gold medal champion, winning the fight on a technical knock out after De La Hoya's corner threw in the towel, with Pacquiao moving on to mainstream stardom at the expense of boxing's "Golden Boy."
