Developed by Naughty Dog, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" remains to have an uncertain release date, considering information from PlayStation's official site. Nevertheless, the source has marked a 2015 launch, and since Sony is the game's publisher, we may be expecting its arrival anytime soon.

However, Gamepur recently noted that Walmart has begun taking preorders for the upcoming title. As told by the outlet, the retail giant explicitly unveiled the game's shipping date as Oct. 1, 2015. The product appeared to sell at a price of $43.40, and you can see details here.

That could be depressing for those who expected an earlier launch, but without Sony's confirmation, we're taking the info with a pinch of salt. But really -- are we nine months away from 2015's PS4-exclusive?

Apparently, Gamepur is convinced that Walmart's release date is only a placeholder. That means Oct. 1 may only be a variable; it can change over the course of time.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" chronicles the story of retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake. The upcoming game is set years after his last adventure ("Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception," 2011).

In "Uncharted 4," Drake comes back to the world of thieves, only that he seems forced. The character is set to embark on a journey that attempts to figure out a historical conspiracy, known to be associated with a "fabled pirate treasure."

While the game's release date appears blurred, we're greeted with a fact that Drake may actually be exploring more open worlds soon. Game Rant quoted an interview with co-lead designer Ricky Cambier's dialogue with Game Informer, where he revealed juicy information as to what players can expect from the game's mechanics.

Cambier detailed, "I think our goal with the layouts in some of these spaces is that there's not that golden path. You turn this corner, you're going to find something surprising... There might be a shimmy ledge this way, there might be things that break this way; so every path has that action, that tempo that you want."

It looks like the new world of "Uncharted 4" has been customized for more freedom and flexibility.

"Because you want to go bigger in this jungle layout that we have. You can see just all the avenues that Drake has; these new tool... Then you realize how much space you need to fulfill that and how far you can go. How you design a space that has that size and that epicness, but is still understandable, digestible," he went on.
