One Direction is back in the studio to make their fifth album, but despite being hard at work to give fans the next set of songs to fawn over, rumors of a 1D split is up in the air, and there may be a good reason why.

According to Unreality TV, Louis Tomlinson, for instance is planning to set up his own company, called '78 Productions Ltd, of which he is the sole director, meaning he will be competing with Simon Cowell, the man who put him together with the rest of the cast to become the international pop sensation that they are, and their relationship could be tested.

Or it could be because of their relationship with Zayn Malik. According to Inquisitr, a source spilled that Zayn's been ditching the band on several occasions, with the source saying, Zayn Malik is a bit of a lone wolf and over the last year he's hit the headlines on various occasions for skipping out on his One Direction band mates. The highest profile event was of course the album launch in Orlando which he missed due to illness, though a whole furore broke out when one interviewer suggested to the band that he may be absent due to the side effects of drug abuse.

Or it may also be because Harry Style's is looking to expand his horizons in the music business without the boys. According to J-14, Meghan Trainor and Harry Styles recorded a duet together called "Someday Maybe" and according to her, she didn't think that Harry was such a mature song writer, a far cry from what she thought during an interview with The Sun, when she confessed that she didn't think the One Direction hunk would be so grown up.

Later, she realized her mistake, telling BBC's Radio 1 that working with Styles has been "unbelievable." She also went on to say, "He's a very, very talented songwriter, I was very impressed."

Despite the band breakup rumors that doesn't seem to leave the band, it has been confirmed by Metro UK that the boys are back in the studio, working on their fifth album, despite what Louis said a few months ago. The group is apparently excited to get back to work, and are hoping to have their new album out by Christmas.
