Reality TV star and fitness model Greg Plitt was pronounced dead after being hit by a Metrolink train in Burbank, California last Saturday.

According to Mirror Online, witnesses saw Plitt near the train tracks holding a video camera. A friend of his suggested that "he was filming an ad for a protein shake." Sgt. Chris Canales of the Burbank Police Department told USA Today that the fitness guru died approximately 4:05 PM local time.

The department also disclosed to People that "a camera was seized as evidence, but it's unclear whether the camera was Plitt's." CBS Los Angeles added that "Plitt was walking on the tracks in an area where pedestrians are not allowed to cross."

Plitt was best known for his stint on Bravo's reality show called "Work Out," Mirror Online reports. He was also scheduled to appear on the network's new series "Friends to Lovers" which will be shown this month.

Aside from these, the 37-year-old fitness instructor worked alongside Robert DeNiro and Matt Damon in "The Good Shepherd," and in "Terminator 4" opposite Christian Bale. He also served as a body double on "Watchmen," the news outlet noted.

Plenty of his colleagues and fans paid tribute to Plitt on the Internet, including fitness model and writer Jamie Easton, British model Louise Glover, Russ Howe, Lazar Angelov, Jeff Seid, and female body building and figure champion Nicole Wilkins, according to Mirror Online.

"I will never forget how passionate he was when he was talking to fans -- he had a way of making you believe anything was possible if you wanted it bad enough," Wilkins said in a post on her Facebook account.

Bravo producer Andy Cohen also expressed his grief on Plitt's passing. He tweeted: "We couldn't take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on 'Work Out'-was as nice as he was beautiful. Seemed invincible, like Superman."

The network also released a statement regarding Plitt's death. USA Today quoted: "This is a very sad tragedy. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Greg's family and friends."

Just a month ago, the fitness guru posted a haunting video on his Instagram account asking fans "Will you be remembered?"

According to Mirror Online, the short clip featured Plitt working out in the gym before jumping off a cliff with the words "It's your life" written across the screen. As the video plays a voiceover from Plitt was heard saying: "A new vision, authority, belief, confidence in yourself...the world's your playground - limitless," and then, "Will you be remembered?"

In November 2014, he posted a video blog on YouTube titled "The Power of Death." In the clip's description, Plitt said that death is "a perspective wakeup call" and that it shouldn't be feared. Watch the video's preview below.
