Aside from the rumored One M9, there had been talks aimed at a bigger HTC flagship, expected to arrive in the uncertain future. Meet the HTC Hima Ace Plus, or as Pocket-lint put it, the HTC One M9 max.

According to the report, speculations have it that the upcoming phablet comes with a "bezel-free edge-to-edge display." Citing information from 4GNews, the outlet added that the device allegedly packs a 5.5-inch QHD screen, owning a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Density is set at 534 pixels per inch.

The phablet was also said to include a fingerprint scanner that's capable of functioning even when the screen is turned off. CNET called the alleged camera specs as HTC's "most ambitious yet," being 20 MP in the rear and 4 MP (UltraPixel) in front.

Other specs from the recent leak included 3GB of RAM, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor (clocked at 2.3GHz), 32 GB of internal storage and a 3000 mAh battery.

The device appeared to be HTC's third rumored flagship, considering CNET's count. Previously, we've heard of reports centered on an HTC One M9, HTC One M9 Prime and HTC One Hima. Some of these allegations could represent the same thing, but with no official word coming from the company, these information are best taken with a pinch of salt.

Note that the HTC One M9 was initially thought to launch in the recent International Consumer Electronics Show. However, much to the disappointment of those who expected, the smartphone didn't even cast the lightest of its shadow.

But non-appearance in the CES doesn't mean a device comes out in Barcelona's Mobile World Congress, either. Should the HTC Hima Ace Plus (or One M9 max) be real, Phandroid suggested that prospects shouldn't expect it in the upcoming March event. Instead, the outlet pointed sources, which claimed that the phone arrives "sometime" in August or September.

This time frame reportedly aligns the device with the previous 2013 HTC One Max and puts it against Samsung's Galaxy Note 5. The latter, as we have previously reported, is expected to arrive in September. It's also said to compete with Apple's iPhone 6S / iPhone 7.
