The transfer of CM Punk from the WWE to the UFC has opened the possibilities for other famous wrestlers to also join professional MMA fighting.

Sports World News said in a report that Punk quit WWE in January 2014 and announced last month that he already signed with the UFC. He is set to make his debut in the UFC later this year.

With his successful transition to the UFC, here are three other professional wrestlers who can also possibly end up in the MMA field.

1. Brock Lesnar - Called "The Beast," Lesnar is rumored to return to the Octagon once his contract with the WWE expires. Sports World News said that UFC President Dana White has expressed his intent to welcome back the fighter "with open arms." It was noted that Lesnar had a very successful UFC career prior to his retirement in 2011.

Some reports have noted that after his contract expires after WrestleMania 31, he will return to the Octagon.

A WrestleZone report said that UFC Heavyweight Brendan Schaub has commented on the possible return of Lesnar to the UFC.

"Listen, doing fake wrestling is not the same as being in the UFC. You're playing grab-ass. You know if you're going to win or lose. Yeah, it's hard on your body. Great. He hasn't been competing and training like I have. If he comes back to the UFC, I would 100 percent send him packing back to the fake wrestling," he was quoted by WrestleZone as saying.

2. The Undertaker - With his age and experience in the WWE, The Undertaker would make a good candidate for a UFC transfer as he is already wanting something new in his career.

But according to Sports World News, he may not be able to take the challenges that MMA fighting has to offer.

'"Taker may never get to fulfill his hopes of competing in the Octagon, but it would be interesting to see what he would do," the report noted.

3. Alberto Del Rio - A Wrestling Inc. report said that "El Patron" has received numerous offer to return to the MMA with him possibly facing Bellator. It was, however, noted that Del Rio will only agree to return if he can make a huge amount of money from MMA than from professional wrestling.

The fighter, according to Sports World News, was released from the WWE when he slapped a social media worker because of racist comments made about him.
