The Xbox One appears to be on its way to a successful launch, so much so that Microsoft is warning fans that the company's stock of the console may not last until the holiday shopping season begins in earnest.

Recently Microsoft's own Phil Harrison spoke to MCV about the launch of the console, and the executive warned that the Xbox One could be scare in the United Kingdom and elsewhere after the launch day fans are done grabbing their own copies of the console. The executive also believes that this lack of supply is due to the strong lineup of games that the console has already:

"There will be difficulty getting stock through until Christmas but we will do everything we can to accelerate that...From a games and product point-of-view, we have a very strong line-up for the year ahead. So this is really just one day in the calendar and then tomorrow it is back to work. We have some big games to bring to market in the first quarter and beyond...Our job on a tactical level is to ensure we get enough supply to retailers and customers as we possibly can to meet demand, and that will be a struggle but we are doing our best."

While it is too early to tell how many copies of the Xbox One have been sold, the console figures to have a successful launch. Early reports indicated that the console may not have had as many preorders as the PlayStation 4; however it is unclear if the gaming console has been able to watch or even surpass the early sales of the rival console. For the record, the PlayStation 4 was able to sell over one million copies in just a few days after the Nov. 15 launch. In addition, Sony had stated that they are prepared for the holiday season with additional consoles held in reserve.

The Xbox One has managed to overcome some rough backlash after it was originally revealed to become a top contender in the next gen console war. The game has a solid launch lineup of games available on day one, including many exclusive games that are only available on the Xbox One. The console costs $500 and comes with the Xbox One Kinect, which allows for voice commands, facial recognition, and motion-capture gameplay for certain titles.
