A magazine cover featuring Bruce Jenner surprised and confused fans as it shows the former Olympian with makeup and long hair, International Business Times reported.

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star has been hounded by speculations of him transitioning into a woman for months now. Rumors ranged from a shaved Adam's apple, to gender reassignment surgery, to changing his name to Bridgette and more, with sightings and photographs of him showing his long hair and manicured nails.

This time, however, the realty star found himself facing the rumors dead on after InTouch Weekly released one of their issues with him on the cover as a woman.

The cover showed Jenner with lipstick, makeup, his long hair down and a headline that read "Bruce's Story: My Life as a Woman."

It is unknown what the magazine's intentions are with the cover, especially since Jenner has never really stated his intentions to transition into a woman. Whatever it is though, Jenner's family isn't having any it.

Jenner's ex-wife Kris is reportedly outraged over the edited photo, according to TMZ, and is telling people, "It's just mean to do whether or not it's true."

Reports even claimed that she has nothing but contempt for the magazine.

Jenner, on the other hand, is keeping mum and staying away. A close friend of the star even told TMZ, "He doesn't even pay attention to this stuff."

Not only that, but some are calling the cover a demonstration of transphobia, with many expressing their indignation and even revulsion over what has been done towards Jenner, according to USA Today.

Howard Bragman, the vice chairman of PR film Repuation, called it "the transgender equivalent of blackface" and even called it "offensive, unacceptable and transphobic," as quoted by USA Today.

Whether or not Jenner really is paying attention to the stories about him and the outcry it has caused, it seemed like he's at least taking precautions.

The reality star was spotted on Thursday stepping out of a studio in California where he had a meeting. Decked out in a cap, red shirt and black trousers, Jenner was spotted getting into his car with the help of a security guard who made sure nobody got too close to the star. He seemed to be keeping a low profile after the magazine scandal, ducking his head to avoid photos, according to Mirror.

It remains to be seen just how things will pan out for Jenner after the scandal, or how InTouch Weekly plans to respond, if they will.
