Anticipation is high for NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros.' upcoming game "Mortal Kombat X," and to tease fans even more, the latest trailer of the fighting game was released, introducing two returning fighters, Princess Kitana and Kung Lao, Game Spot reported.
"Mortal Kombat X" is the tenth installment of the "Mortal Kombat" series and is scheduled to come out on April 14 in several platforms, the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. With only months to wait, NetherRealm Studios is trying to amp up excitement with a brand new trailer.
The gameplay trailer was released on Wednesday showing Edenian Princess Kitana and the martial artist with the sharp hat tricks Kung Lao. Fans and gamers get a peek of Kung Lao using his hat to chop a few limbs and Kitana displaying her brutal and bloody finishing move.
Goro also makes an appearance by the end of the trailer with the words "Goro Lives" appearing on screen.
The three fighters are among the few that have been confirmed to return to the game, joining the likes of Scorpion, Raiden, Quan Chi, Kano and Sub-Zero. Goro is also included for free if the player pre-ordered the game, and maybe some will count Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage as additions if they looked at the couple's daughter Cassie, according to Kotaku.
NetherLand Studios is definitely giving fans more reason to look forward to the game, with Kung Lao and Kitana's addition and fans can possibly expect a few more, especially if the "Who's Next?" that appeared on the trailer is any indication.
"Mortal Kombat X," which takes places 25 years after "Mortal Kombat 9," will have the players choose from five different factions, the Black Dragon, Special Force, White Lotus, Lin Kuei or Brotherhood of Shadows. For each fight, the players earn battle points for his or her chosen faction, which will determine the look of the in-game single or multiplayer menus and many more, according to IGN.
Also, for the first time, Netherland Studios gave the characters three styles of play or three move sets each that the players can choose from at the start of each match. Kung Lao, for example, has his hat-tossing Buzz Saw, spinning Tempest skill and manipulative Hat Trick, according to Kotaku. Each battle will lead to furthering the game's storyline.
"Mortal Kombat X" comes out in April 14 for a price of $59.99 for the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC according to Game Stop.
