Radamel Falcao and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez are now emerging as staple names in soccer's transfer universe, with both expected to shift teams after their underwhelming performance.

"As well as their lackluster performance, United's 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Sunday drew much scrutiny for the absence entirely from the team sheet of Radamel Falcao," said the International Business Times. "...[F]resh doubts were raised about whether the club would go through with a permanent deal at the cost of £43 million."

BBC Sports noted that Sunday was the first time after five games that manager Louis van Gaal left Falcao out of his 18-man squad, which he later explained as "tactical."

Analysts believe that the Monaco loan's cost -- £16 million in signing fee and salary, per The Guardian -- is exorbitant in exchange for 3 goals in 13 appearances since September, a lackluster production some attribute to a serious knee injury in January.

Even the 28-year-old's agent, Jorge Mendes, publicly admitted his doubts.

"He will play in one of the very best clubs in the world next season, whether that is Manchester United or not," said Mendes, per BBC Sports. "The truth is, right now, we don't know what will happen."

The Guardian attributes the issue to Falcao's inability to adapt to the tempo of football in England.

The Colombian has been linked to Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester City although experts doubt them paying high, said the International Business Times. Falcao already shunned the possibility of returning to Monaco, which reportedly acquired him for about £50m mid-2013, and the team's best option is to lower their price.

Making noise, too, is the trade rumor on Hernandez, who failed to impress Real all-season and is expected to be sold by United.

Latino Post reported earlier that contrary to news that his fate hung on whether or not Falcao would be sent out, he would be sold no matter what.

It appears that there is no change in course seen on the horizon, according to The Bleacher Report

News 24 Nigeria agreed: "It seems clear that Hernandez has kicked his last ball at Old Trafford." The second half of the season will reportedly be crucial to both players' futures, since they will have to prove that they still have the goal-scoring ability.

As for United: "There is an expectation at the club that the summer will feature another clearout by Louis van Gaal after the manager allowed 15 players to be sold or go on loan last year," explained The Guardian. Robin van Persie, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Rafael da Silva are also expected to leave, it explained.
