One of the most talked about remarks during the 72^nd Golden Globe Awards happened during an exchange between Jennifer Lopez and Jeremy Renner.

Lopez, 45, is no stranger to wearing revealing gowns in her public appearances. Naturally, the singer didn't disappoint on Sunday's annual awards show event when she wore a silver dress with a plunging neckline that almost reached her belly. According to Fox News Latino, the sexy gown was designed by no other than one of J. Lo's favorite designers -- Zuhair Murad.

As expected, heads turned towards the star's dazzling outfit for the evening. However, it looks like she didn't only capture the attention of the photographers and the public, but also the eyes of her fellow celebrities, particularly actor Jeremy Renner.

When the two went onstage to present an award for the Best Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie category (which was won by Billy Bob Thornton of "Fargo"), Renner gave a comment which shocked some of the viewers who were watching the show.

Lopez offered to open the envelope to announce the winner, saying, "You want me to do it? I've got the nails."

To which the "Bourne Legacy" actor responded, "Yeah, you've got the globes too," as quoted by Fox News Latino.

The news outlet also noted that Renner's eyes weren't exactly trained on the envelope. Lopez, however, didn't seem to be offended and even laughed off the exchange.

The singer may have quickly brushed off the comment, but the Twitterverse didn't let Renner get off the hook that easily. According to a report from E! Online, some Twitter users deemed the actor's remark as "tactless" and "inappropriate".

In response, the 44-year-old actor told people to take the whole situation lightly. He tweeted: "A reminder not to take this sh*t so serious. Thanks Jennifer -- You're a gem.x #goldenglobes #hadtosayit #jlo."

What J.Lo thinks of Renner's comment

Apparently, there's nothing to worry about.

"That was really funny," J.Lo told E! Online's Marc Malkin after the awards show. "He's a very funny man. It even made me a little hot."

The singer also didn't fail to impress with her outfit in the Golden Globes After Party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. According to Hollywood Life, J. Lo wore another sexy cutout dress by Amanda Wakeley. The strapless, high-neck design of the number featured "snakeskin bodice with cutouts on the sides paired with a seductive long skirt that displayed her rock solid abs & lean legs with a plunging slit on the side." To complete the ensemble, the superstar threw her highlighted locks into a high bun.
