Shortly after Paul Stanley's departure was announced, Univision confirmed that CNN Español's Ismael Cala will be joining the network's "Despierta América."

According to Latin Times, experienced journalist Cala, also known for being a motivational speaker, will appear on "Despierta América" on Monday, January 12. He will join co-hosts Alan Tacher, Ximena Córdoba, Johnny Lozada, Ana Patricia, Karla Martínez ,and Satcha Pretto on the 7:00 AM transmission.

"I'm so happy and excited to join Univision's 'Despierta América' family," Cala said, as quoted by Latin Times. "I'm joining the team with the purpose of sharing my passion for matters such as human development, personal growth and leadership with the audience; contributing with key tools to achieve successful lives, business and personal relationships," the anchor added.

So what can we expect from the 25-year veteran journalist? He said, "Juntos vamos a 'esCALAr' al próximo nivel", which means "Together we will 'climb' to the next level," as noted by Latin Times.

What's next for Paul Stanley

Stanley reportedly left "Despierta América" eight months after joining the show. According to a network spokesperson cited by Media Moves, "He went back to Mexico to work on other projects and be closer to his family. However, Paul will continue to be part of the Univision family. He will travel to Miami and continue his work in Sábado Gigante and occasionally be on DA from Mexico."

The report added that Stanley's purpose to return to Mexico is to "work hard in this new year." He also assured fans that they would still see him on-air since he will still be hosting "Sábado Gigante" and "Amordidas," Media Moves noted.

Cala, on the other hand, is expected to double his efforts as he will still remain on his self-titled show, a nightly interview program on CNNE which has been airing since November 2010, according to another report from Media Moves. He will only serve as a motivational and inspirational speaker in one of the "Despierta América" segments.

"I will continue working for 'CNN Español'; in fact I have to thank them for trusting me and supporting my diversification as a communicator through 'Cala Enterprises' where we develop leadership, personal growth and spirituality content," he said, as reported by Latin Times.

Aside from these, the journalist is also the author of two self-help books titled "El Poder de Escuchar" ("The Power to Listen") and the newly released "Un Buen Hijo de P" ("A Good Son of a P"). Cala previously served as CNNE's correspondent and anchor. He also hosted "Calando Fuerte" and "Ismael Cala y la Jungla de la Mañana" in the past, Media Moves added.
