On the latest "Hart of Dixie," Zoe and Wade rescued Joel from kidnappers, a new couple was introduced and a surprise pregnancy was revealed.

In "I Run to You," Joel (Josh Cooke) is experiencing writer's block since arriving in Bluebell. He can't seem to get past it, so he goes to his friend Wade's (Wilson Bethel) house to "blow off some steam," against Zoe's (Rachel Bilson) wishes. He then gets kidnapped by the Truitt brothers on the way to Wade's house.

Zoe and Wade rush to his rescue and negotiate his ransom. In exchange for his freedom, Wade is forced to forgive the bar tab they've run up at the Rammer Jammer. Although it was a traumatic event, it allowed Joel to get over his writer's block.

Meanwhile, Annabeth (Kaitlyn Black) tries to make amends with Lavon (Cress Williams), but he keeps avoiding her. At the end of the episode, he finally makes a compromise with her: he isn't ready to get engaged, but he will allow her to keep some of her stuff at his place.

Lynly (Antoinette Robertson) continues to hook up with George Tucker (Scott Porter) behind Lavon's back. Lynly then finally tells Lavon, and he's furious. At first, he tells George that he has to cut off ties with Lynly or not compete in the upcoming relay race. At the last moment, Lavon has a change of heart and lets George run the race, who helps secure a win for the Bluebell team. After the race, Lynly and George take their relationship public at the Rammer Jammer.

Lemon (Jaime King) finds out who outbid her for Fancy's: her father's ex-girlfriend, Shelby (Laura Bell Bundy). She also finds out that Shelby is six months pregnant.

The next episode, "Miracles," will mark the show's mid-season finale.

The synopsis reads: "When Zoe (Rachel Bilson) finds herself treating her uncle, she takes a chance and invites him to the Hanukkah celebration that she is hosting. However, this lands her in trouble once again with Vivian Wilkes (guest star Lauren Bittner). Lemon (Jaime King) enlists George (Scott Porter) and Lynly (guest star Antoinette Robertson) to help uncover crucial information about one of Brick's (Tim Matheson) exes before he does anything rash. Meanwhile, Wade (Wilson Bethel) has a horrible toothache but refuses to go to the dentist, until Tansy (guest star Mircea Monroe) intervenes and helps him to open his eyes to his future."
