With the Xbox One officially released, the next-gen console war can begin in earnest between Microsoft and Sony's PlayStation 4. For PlayStation 4 buyers, here are the top five games available on the console.

5. Call of Duty: Ghosts - While some may (justifiably) say that Battlefield 4 is a better game, the newest entry into the franchise is the best-selling PlayStation 4 game so far, and that means a lively community for users to jump into. With games that are focused on multiplayer such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, this big pool of players helps it become a go-to title for the console.

4. Resogun - One of the free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers for the month of November, Resogun is one of the better options for users to try out while it has such a discounted price. The twin stick shooter game is fast paced, difficult and addictive, and offers a large amount of replayability. Throw in some great graphics and a killer soundtrack and it is a worthy pickup.

3. Need for Speed: Rivals - The return of the Need for Speed series sees the game improve on the best features of previous installments and add new ones based on the power of the next-gen consoles. With a single player experience that is connected online to others, no two races are ever the same, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game.

2. NBA 2K14 - EA Games has managed to bring an entirely new game to the next-gen consoles than the version found on older consoles, making this basketball game the one to get on the PlayStation 4. The game takes an enormous leap forward graphically on the PlayStation 4, while revamping some of the game modes to make the game a slam dunk rather than an air ball.

1. FIFA 14 - While this year's FIFA game has won huge amounts of praise already for the amount of details and solid gameplay found on the previous versions of the game, the next-gen version stands head and shoulders above the rest. This is not a surprise, given the amount of attention EA paid to the new Ignite engine that is powering the game only on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. FIFA 14 manages to feel like a true next-gen game without sacrificing core aspects of the game.
