PlayStation 4 is scheduled to receive a barrage of new games. "January will see a bumper crop of titles hit the Playstation, Xbox and PC markets," said Express.
Here are our picks.
[1] "Dying Light," Jan. 27
The title made it to Express' picks of the biggest 2015 releases, the only one to make it from the January lineup. According to Gamezone, the game developed by Techland has experienced several delays but is ready for release.
"Dying Light," under the action category on IGN.com, is a "survival game presented in first-person perspective," per the game website.
Enemies in the form of flesh-hungry creatures and "inhuman predators" hide in the day, during which the player can hunt for supplies. They are vicious threats at night.
[2] "Saints Row IV: Re-Elected," Jan. 20
The game revolves around a world where the Saints' head honcho won U.S. presidency, said IGN.com's description. The world is invaded by aliens that trap the Saints in a simulation. They have to free themselves to save the world.
"Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity," the developer's website said. "Escape the simulation that's trapped the Saints crew, or die trying."
According to a commenter on a Saints Row thread, the new-gen console release will not be available for PC. It will release simultaneously with "Saints Row IV: Gat Out of Hell."
[3] "Motorcycle Club," January
If you're into arcade, this is the game for you.
As a racing game, it's selling point is the experience of 22 motorbikes from different brands, per its website — Kawasaki and Yamaha, for example. You can create your own club and battle on 20 different tracks.
"Good little funny game to play with friends! It's very arcade, the graphics are good, the game is simple and we can have fun for few hours!" said one reviewer from Steampowered.
[4] "Grim Fandango Remastered," Jan. 27
According to Gamezone, the title improves on a 1998 classic, Tim Schafer's adventure inspired by Mexican folklore.
"You play as Manny Calavera, a mid-level worker at the Department of Death who is trying to work off his sins in life so that he can get his final reward," it said. In his job as a reaper, the main character sells travel packages to the underworld. The challenge: He has to sell a premium package to keep his job.
According to Polygon, the game improved on the graphics immensely. There will also be commentary, and the soundtrack was redone.
[5] "Resident Evil," Jan. 20
As early as October, Capcom released videos to entice fans about the improvements undergone by the hit, horrific game, said Game Spot. Why not? It is a very recognizable title, with over 61 million units sold.
"The videos show off characters Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, highlighting the improved visuals (1080p on Xbox One and PS4) and other tweaks that players can expect from the new versions," said the report.
Another Game Spot report calls the project an "overhaul," saying the images are sharper and it has better lighting effects. Compare the visuals here.
