Marvel is having a grand time unfolding a slew of superhero movies up until 2020, and it is set to release a teaser trailer for another film to look forward to this year, for "Ant-Man." The trailer is set for release on January 6, during "Agent Carter," but apparently, that date is for human viewers only.
Ants, on the other hand, are lucky enough to see the teaser a few days earlier, as a seven-second miniature trailer was released.
The film, according to Hero Complex, will see Paul Rudd as the titular Ant-Man, a reformed thief, second to take the superhero name as he helps his mentor, Hank Pym, protect the secret behind the suit that enables the wearer to shrink in size, but with increasing strength.
For those who can't wait to see the miniature trailer, Cinema Blend was able to blow up some of the images (albeit very pixilated) and here are some things we know about the upcoming film:
1) Scott Lang's arrest as a small-time criminal who was just trying to get by - A scene extracted from the mini teaser shows Scott being led away by the police and is probably taken from one of the early scenes of the movie.
2) There is also an image of a well-dressed man who may or may not be Lang's mentor, Hank Pym, who made the technology for Ant-man. It could also be the antagonist, Darren Cross, who eventually becomes one of the hero's antagonists, Yellowjacket, and owner of Cross Technological Enterprises.
3) What seems to be a fight scene is also in the trailer, with a clip of two figures moving away from what looked like a fight. One seems to be female and may be Hank's daughter, Hope Van Dyne in a sparring session or real-life fight.
4) Given that the film is called "Ant-Man," a photo of a swarm of ants made its way in the teaser trailer, which may be in the midst of communicating with Scott. Apparently, the helmet that the hero wears allows him to communicate with the creatures, and the scene may be one of the times that they are following his command.
5) The lab lights are also turned on, but isn't that a staple for unveiling new technology in any superhero film?
"Ant-Man" will be released on July 17, two months after "Avengers: Age of Ultron" opens, and although it is highly unlikely that Ant-man will appear in the superhero supersequel, "Ant-Man" characters may get a shout-out, as it fits in the Marvel universe, with Pym being the creator of Ultron.
Will you be checking out the tiny superhero?
