The production team of the upcoming 2016 film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will aim high in the special effects department. Cinema Blend reports that the production of the movie will bring back the visual effects company Weta Digital to do a massive and epic scene.

According to the news report, Weta Digital's Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Joe Letteri said that the scene they're making for "Batman v Superman" will be a standalone sequence.

"The sequence that we're doing is sort of self-contained, and I don't think you would've seen any of that yet. ... I can't really give any away, but it is a standalone sequence and I think you'll be able to pick it out when you do see it," Letteri told Collider, as quoted by Cinema Blend.

Weta Digital was also responsible for the opening scene of 2013's "Man of Steel," which featured an epic Kryptonian battle and Superman's journey to Earth, Cinema Blend noted. The visual effects company was also behind other movies including "Planet of the Apes," the "Hobbit" films, "The Wolverine," "The Avengers," and "Iron Man 3."

Letteri, however, pointed out that the scene they're making for "Batman v Superman" is not the same footage as the one shown at the San Diego Comic-Con a few months ago, which, according to the news outlet, showed "Superman hovering above a glowing-eyed Batman, ready to throwdown."

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" Cast and Production

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is directed by Zack Snyder, with David Goyer as the screenwriter, according to a separate report from Cinema Blend. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.

Henry Cavill and Amy Adams will reprise their respective roles as Superman/Clark Kent and the Daily Planet investigative journalist Lois Lane. Ben Affleck will portray the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Other cast members include Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Bruce Wayne/Batman's loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Movie Web reports.

Cavill, Affleck, and Adams recently wrapped up filming, Cinema Blend noted. In an interview with Moviefone, Adams confirmed that her character will interact with Batman/Bruce Wayne in the movie. The "Big Eyes" actress, however, didn't disclose about her scene/s with the Caped Crusader.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
