One of this year's most-anticipated smartphone releases is the rumored LG G4. The device may be up to some pressure, following the success of its predecessor, which ValueWalk labeled as "one of the best smartphones of 2014."

This time, a new report from China has been cited by TechnoBuffalo, claiming that the LG G4 could sport its very own stylus at launch. This reminds us of Samsung's Galaxy Note 4, which of course, possessed one (S Pen) as expected.

The outlet went on to reveal further information that there had been, reportedly, LG patents for a certain "G Pen" and a "G Scrawl" software. We could readily predict that the G Pen is the S Pen equivalent, but the G Scrawl is something else to look further.

As MobileBurn put it, the G Scrawl might be a software which allows the pen to "control the screen of a smartphone."

Nevertheless, these reports seem to point that the stylus and software will have to work together, and again, both could make a first impression through the LG G4.

BGR reported that the S Pen has been one of the most-advertised features of the Galaxy Note 4, which only suggests that it's a key characteristic of the phablet.

The "Note" branding in itself suggested something that comes with writing, and the S "Pen" lived up to the occasion. As for the G Pen, we'll have to see if LG keeps up.

Talking about specs, the LG G4 is rumored to pack a 5.3-inch display, 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, 20.7 MP camera (with OIS support), 4 GB of RAM, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, 32 GB of storage and 3500 mAh battery, BGR listed.

The source added that the device may feature microSD support, although the maximum capacity has not been cited. As with any Android device expected this year, we're most likely seeing the G4 to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

As we have previously noted, the device was hinted to be bezel-less and waterproof. It was then tipped that it either goes for a sapphire crystal screen or Corning's Gorilla Glass 4.

In terms of price, Android Pit predicted that the device's regular version may retail for at least $600, multiple versions aside.

With G4 potentially a 2015 release, Android Pit sees it as potential competitor for Samsung's Galaxy Note 5. No official word surrounding the latter is out yet.

The LG G4 has been rumored to be announced in May, The REM said. The outlet noted that its appearance could come "a few weeks after."
