Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 could be coming in two versions: one with a 10-inch display and another at 14 inches, International Business Times reported. Citing recent speculations, the outlet added that both devices may arrive pre-packed with Windows 10.
The Surface Pro line has been recognized for the ability to function both as tablet and laptop. The convenience of a tablet and formality of a laptop set the device in such position that may not be ignored in the electronics market.
As told by Christian Today, the Surface Pro 4 may be released soon, considering countless reports geared at rivals Apple, Samsung and Sony. Prospects are looking forward to see the iPad Air Plus (aka iPad Pro), Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 (2015) and Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra too, and they could all have one thing common: a display above 12 inches.
In terms of specs, recent reports suggested that the Surface Pro 4 will pack Intel Core M processors and similar display resolutions. Citing information from cnBeta, Design & Trend noted that the tablet houses a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels, the same screen packed by the Surface Pro 3.
If Microsoft decides to compete with MacBook Air, Christian Today believes that the Surface Pro 4 should pack Intel's Broadwell processors instead.
The outlet also cited talks indicating that the device could pack a similar RAM as the Surface Pro 3, which comes at 8 GB.
Looking at present reports, the Surface Pro 4 appears to be just like its current generation. We'll have to see more distinction between the specs and features of the 10-and 14-inch versions, if ever they materialize. In addition, IBT also took note of a certain Surface Pro Mini, said to trail just like iPad Mini and Google Nexus tablets. This device allegedly comes with an 8-inch display.
Design & Trend tipped that official word on the Surface Pro 4 may be heard in Microsoft's upcoming Windows 10 event on Jan. 21. The new operating system is expected to arrive in October.
The source added that the device may retail for a "cheaper price," reportedly, compared to the Surface Pro 3.
In another report, IBT took note of a new Surface Pro 3 ad released by Microsoft. The ad highlighted the device's 2-in-1 feature, making use of an entertaining visual that brought reviews from publication sites.
The ad is titled "Accolades," and it's accompanied by 2NE1's "내가 제일 잘 나가," which translates to "I Am The Best." You can check it out below.
