The Xbox One will be released on Nov. 22, but just what does $500 buy you? Before the console is released, here's a guide to what Microsoft is including with the Xbox One.
The Xbox One packs 500GB. The console only comes in black at launch, but special Day One Editions of the console will have an engraving and home button on the Xbox One controller. The Xbox One will have one controller included in the package. Unlike the PlayStation 4, which sells its motion-sensor camera, the PlayStation Eye, separately, the Xbox One comes with the Kinect camera as part of the overall package. This camera allows for motion controls for gaming and navigation in addition to voice commands.
The Kinect can also be used to communicate to fellow gamers, however, the Xbox One will also include a traditional Xbox headset as part of the package. However, Microsoft did not initially include the item in the Xbox One packaging.
While these are the main features of the Xbox One package, the console will have several smaller items that will help users begin their experience with the console. The Xbox One will have a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold. This will allow users to play against other Xbox One users online. It should be noted, however, that users do not need the premium service to run apps such as Netflix and Hulu Plus. The Xbox One will come with a charging cable with a power brick, but no charging cable for the Xbox One controller, which will take double A batteries. The Xbox One will also include a HDMI cable for delivering a HD experience for users. No games are included with the Xbox One unless users have pre-ordered a game for the console.
The Xbox One will be quite the impressive console when it is released, and Microsoft has put together an impressive package for users when they get their hands on it.
