The next "Pirates of the Caribbean" film won't hit theaters until 2017, but that does not mean they're putting off the casting details until before filming starts.

According to Screen Rant, Orlando Bloom has confirmed that there have been talks in regards to the return of his character, but "talks" is a far cry from confirming that Will Turner will most definitely be back.

Bloom, however, suggested that the House of Mouse wanted to do a complete reboot of the franchise, with a father/son arc to be added. Bloom said, "I'm not entirely sure that [I'll be back] just yet, but there are talks. Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son."

However, if Bloom does get back on the franchise, he will no longer be the charming Will Turner, he reminded The Daily Mail, "I'm of course Davey Jones now, so I'm down the bottom of the ocean. It might be kind of fun to do something where I'm rumbling round the bottom of the ocean, because I won't look anything like me. Get all gnarly."

The fact that Bloom is open to doing another "Pirates" film is a surprise in itself. Air Herald reported that he and Keira Knightley (who played Elizabeth Swann) both thought their roles in the film are over and done with when Will became Davy Jones. However, because of the reboot, there should at least be a chance for Bloom to get back on the franchise.

With Bloom's end as Will Turner, it could be possible for him not to be part of the fifth installment, however, as noted by Air Herald, "Pirates" die-hard fans did not enjoy the direction that the fourth film (and the first without Bloom) took. Getting Bloom back on the franchise would most likely bring them all back for an even bigger blockbuster hit.

The plot of the movie is not yet set in stone; however filming will begin in Australia next year, and will last for about five months. According to Celebeat, the film will be directed by Kon-tiki directors Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, and will star Johnny Depp as the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush as Hector Barbossa.

The rest of the cast have not been confirmed yet, but Javier Bardem is rumored to play the main antagonist and was described to be "a ghost captain who blames Sparrow for the death of his brother who is on search for a supernatural object to aid him."

Do you think Orlando Bloom should reprise his role in the franchise, or has the Will Turner-Davy Jones storyline done its part?
