In September, GoPro Inc. introduced its most powerful lineup through the GoPro Hero 4. This line showcased two versions, the Black and the Silver, which do not just mean a difference in color. Simultaneously, the entry-level Hero also made its debut, capturing high-quality 1080p (30fps) and 720p (60fps) videos.

But while it may be too early, we've already heard shutters of an upcoming sequel, allegedly poised as the GoPro Hero 5.

According to Franchise Herald, there are rumors claiming that Hero 5 could offer a minimum of 4K resolution (60 frames per second), which could even reach up to 8K upon the device's release. Interestingly, the outlet added that a more advanced Bluetooth 4.0 may be packed, allowing faster uploading of data.

One possible reason why GoPro might have contemplated on an immediate sequel is the apparent difference between Hero 4's black and silver editions. According to the Christian Times, several reviewers have pointed that the silver version only recorded videos at 15 frames per second, compared to the black version which took them at 30.

However, it must be noted that the silver version featured a touchscreen ability -- something the higher-priced black version doesn't possess.

The Christian Times went on to cite GoPro Hero 5 news suggesting that the device may have a Winter 2015 release. As previous GoPro cameras were said to be pricey, the outlet believed that GoPro could be trying to "cap" the model's cost at $400. Accordingly, if the camera is capable of diving 60 m underwater, some sites have noted that price may not be much of an issue.

Competitors of GoPro have priced their devices about $300 and below, wrote KpopStarz. Technically, this makes the brand the most expensive one out in the market. Whether or not GoPro cuts Hero 5's cost, it may be safe to say that the selling price will have to stand for the device's abilities as a whole equipment.

In terms of battery life, Franchise Herald noted reports hinting at a possible 150% increase, which would naturally give the outdoor camera extended life and more productivity time for its users. As KpopStarz puts it, this battery is expected to be "less than an inch thicker."
