WWE usually tapes "Friday Night SmackDown" on Tuesdays, but because of the holidays, the show decided to schedule taping on an earlier date. According to Mstarz, WWE taped the December 26 episode of the show from Sioux City, Iowa on Sunday night. Here's the recap of the recent "Friday Night SmackDown" edition, as reported by the news outlet.

Hulk Hogan first appeared on the ring, announcing that he is the General Manager of the show for the evening. He was interrupted, however, by Seth Rollins, who said that he looked up to Hogan and he was his inspiration to get into wrestling, but insisted that "Hogan does not deserve to be in the ring anymore because it was Rollins' time." Latin Post noted.

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler came to Hogan's rescue. Big Show stole the show by appearing on the ring and threatening to knock out both Ziggler and Hogan. This was then followed by an appearance from Roman Reigns, who defeated Big Show on "Raw." Hogan then declared that Ziggler and Reigns would battle Big Show and Rollins in a tag team match for the main event.

Ryback beats Kane with his "Shell Shock" finisher despite Rusev interfering the match. Rusev taunted Ryback, which allowed Kane to "Choke Slam" his opponent. But Ryback still managed to pull through in the end and come out on top.

Naomi quickly defeated Alicia Fox in the singles competition. Adam Rose, with his "Party Foul" finisher, was also victorious in his re-match with R-Truth. "Rose came out with his Rosebuds, but The Bunny, whom Rose had attacked after losing his bout to R-Truth on Monday, did not accompany his party entourage," Latin Post added.

Rusev lost his WWE United States Champion title to Dean Ambrose via a disqualification when Bray Wyatt meddled in the match. Ambrose and Wyatt then battled it out outside of the ring, which ended when the latter went back to the locker room. However, because Ambrose won the title through a disqualification, Rusev still remains as WWE United States Champion, Latin Post stated.

Jimmy Uso defeated The Miz in a singles match. According to Latin Post, "The Miz tried to ditch the match but ended up getting beat down by Uso, still angry that The Miz was bothering his wife Naomi." The Miz ended up with two "Super Kicks" and "Super Fly Splash" from his foe.

As for the main event, Ziggler and Reigns emerged as champions against Rollins and Big Show. After the match, the winners joined fans on the ringside to celebrate Christmas.
