Rockstar Games has let out several promises for "Grand Theft Auto V," one of which is a story-expanding DLC in 2014. But we're almost at the edge of the calendar, and no traces of such have surfaced yet. With Christmas coming soon, the company is left with only a few days to make things happen.
Will Rockstar fail to deliver the update?
Maybe it's too early to conclude -- because Franklin's voice actor, Shawn Fonteno, hinted in his dialogue with Jack Thriller that things are actually underway. For the uninitiated, Franklin is one of the game's protagonists, alongside Michael and Trevor.
"We're working on the DLC, downloadable content, for 'Grand Theft Auto V' and that's real big... That's first on my list, to finish that up," Fonteno claimed.
It must be noted, however, that Rockstar by itself hasn't confirmed the voice actor's statement. GameSpot reported that Fonteno could be referring to his participation in the long-awaited Heists mode. With Heists and current-gen versions almost finalized, the outlet is convinced that the company may finally focus its attention on the story DLC.
Followers are holding on to the gaming giant's earlier announcement, "For those ready to jump back into the story of 'Grand Theft Auto V,' we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas."
At the time of its statement, Rockstar likewise revealed that Heists are up for a 2014 release. But as we have previously reported, we're not seeing the DLC this year, as the company recently confirmed its arrival "early in 2015." GameSpot noted that it comes available for all platforms, including the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.
As told by GameRant, the DLC would launch with five separate Heists, having at least 20 missions. These will be replayable, allowing users to experience different roles.
In the meantime, PC users can finally look forward to the coming of "Grand Theft Auto V" in their systems. Gamer Headlines reported that the title's PC version launches Jan. 27, 2015 -- and that's around a month from now.
Rockstar released "GTA V" for the Xbox One and PS4 on Nov. 14, 2014. The title initially came out on Sept. 17, 2013 for previous-gen consoles, wrote iDigitalTimes.
What would you like to see in the upcoming Story Mode updates? Are you glad that Heists are finally coming? We'd love to hear your thoughts below.
