Kate Upton is People's Sexiest Woman Alive: What's Her Workout Routine & Diet Plan?

Twenty two-year-old model Kate Upton bagged the "Sexiest Woman Alive" title at the first-ever People Magazine Awards on Thursday night.

The event was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, wrote Entertainment Tonight. Upton's endowment follows Chris Hemsworth's recent crowning as People's "Sexiest Man Alive." Upton is best known for her participation in Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition cover and portrayal in "The Other Woman," the outlet said.

Upton expressed upon accepting the award, "This is such an honor to me because sexy to me means someone who's confident and happy, and that's the person I always strive to be."

As told by People, Upton even joked about her brother during her speech, "I'm so, so sorry to my 18-year-old brother. Poor David!" 

And it seems that most people agree with Upton's win. USA Today cited award-presenter Eric Dane's comment, "There are a lot of reasons why Kate is sexy. Style, career, achievements, sense of humor, personality - oh and did I mention her ... looks?"

People's Sexiest Woman Alive could be celebrating the good times with 31-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher boyfriend, Justin Verlander.

Now we wonder -- what could be her secret in maintaining a sexy physique? We've curated some of her practices below.

According to Healthy Celeb, Justin Gelband is the man behind Upton's success -- training her five times a week. Citing her 2012 appearance in Sports Illustrated, the source wrote that her training began three months prior to photoshoot. She underwent circuit training, which included bursts of intense exercises that ultimately toned her body.

Upton's training had about 8-10 exercises in a single circuit. In between exercises, she took 30-60 seconds to rest and recharge. She warms up by walking on the treadmill. This activity is followed by kickboxing, elastics bands and rope skipping.

To develop her muscles, Upton makes use of weights. She executes three circuits of the exercise chart created by Gelband. She was noted to share similarities with Candice Swanepoel's workout schedule, whom Gelband has also worked with.

Off to the diet part! Interestingly, Healthy Celeb said Upton splurges on ice-cream, cupcakes and French fries. Although she was noted to consume protein, she appears to despise red meat because she just doesn't like it. She also takes oatmeals and salads.

Discipline appears to be all that matters -- and Upton sure knew how to work her way out. The Cheat Sheet cited her statement to The Cut, "I always try and work out and eat healthy throughout my life so I don't have to do anything drastic before shoots."
