The heart may want what it wants, but even the heart can't do anything if the other half of the equation says no.

According to TV3. Selena Gomez had to lean on her BFF, Taylor Swift, as she tries to get over her ex, Justin Bieber, as she has been missing him a lot over the holiday season.

The pair, who called it quits for good in October, allegedly had a few stormy weeks, and Selena isn't finding it easy to move on, especially since Christmas is fast-approaching.

She is having such a hard time that in a report by Us Weekly, she was said to have become very emotional over her ex on the terrace of Taylor's apartment in Tribeca. Source for the magazine spilled, "She shouted, 'No one understands me! My boyfriend doesn't even understand me."

Friends of the celebrator and partygoers, which included Sam Smith, Jay Z, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and even Nick Jonas, were not able to do anything but stare at her. However, despite Selena's flair for the dramatics, the rest of the party went on and had a "total blast."

The 22-year-old is still trying to cope, and a source for Hollywood Life revealed, "Selena's definitely at a crossroad-she not sure what to do. It's the holiday season which makes her miss Justin even more. There is part of her that's still holding on to a drop of hope that Justin will reach out to her before the end of the year and make a grand gesture to win her back."

Unfortunately for Selena, Justin seems to have ran out of romantic gestures for her, as he had other things on his mind, namely, hanging out with different girls left and right.

Selena is still lucky considering everything though, because she had her best friend to rely for support. The source shared that "she has been leaning on Taylor Swift for support and guidance."

A source also weighed in on the Selena-Taylor friendship, telling Hollywood Life that "Taylor had been reassuring Selena that she did the right thing by playing hard to get with Justin. She told Selena to stay away from Justin's Twitter and Instagram accounts, to stay positive and to stay busy."

One can only hope that she will take her BFF's advice and stay away from her ex.
