Popular Brooklyn Nets fan Jeffrey Vanchiro, more popularly known as Jeffrey Gamblero, jumped to his death from his father's house in Flushing, Queens, on Saturday.

The 38-year-old fan, according to ESPN, suffered severe brain damage and fractured his spinal cord because of the nasty fall.

His fiancee, Kristi Evans, told ESPN that the recent incident at the Madison Square Garden where, due to unruly behavior, Vanchiro was removed by security personnel without his prosthetic leg "changed him for the worse."

"After that, he was a completely different person. He was paranoid. He was erratic. He was frightened. He was horrified. He was a bit delusional. And he was having a lot of trouble sleeping. He couldn't sleep at all. When he would sleep or try to sleep, it would only take about 10 to 15 minutes before he would wake up screaming, covered in sweat," Evans said as quoted by ESPN.

She added that three days after the incident, her fiancee seemed distraught and "wasn't feeling like himself."

On Friday, Evans said that Vanchiro was still able to dance on the arena video boards in Brooklyn but she noted that something was really not right.

"If you try to stay the same after a life-changing event, then you're lying to yourself because when your life has changed you are now a different person. I had the worst week of my life," Vanchiro earlier told OurBKSocial in an interview.

He added that people did not seem to understand him and the situation he went through when he lost his leg. "When my leg got chopped off, I was [feeling] horror and trauma, and I had to focus on getting back to what I had to do."

The following day, Evans said that Vanchiro told her that he will stay with his father for the night so the former thought it would be a good idea for her boyfriend to have some peace of mind. She was, however, stunned with the news she received hours after.

"He's never, ever exhibited any suicidal tendencies. He jumped out of the bed, ran down the hallway ... and then threw himself out of a window headfirst and landed on his head," she told ESPN.

The Nets fan was rushed to the New York Hospital Queens where he underwent brain surgery. His condition, however, got worse on Sunday when his brain was not already functioning. ESPN said that some 50 family members and friends visited Vanchiro at the hospital while he was still struggling for his life.

According to Daily Mail, Vanchiro became known to fellow Nets fans because of his dedication to cheer for the team, unique outfits and interesting dance moves during the games.

Nets center Brook Lopez told ESPN that Vanchiro will always be remembered for his unique energy during the games. "He was a huge part of [the atmosphere at Barclays]. He always brought positive energy. He always had our back. He was there for us. We were just proud to have him be a part of our organization and a part of our team."
