Apple's iPod Touch 6^th generation is allegedly about to be released, but the company is still mum about the details and specifications of the gadget. Stabley Times, however, published a report about the rumors surrounding the iPod Touch 6^th generation.

According to Stabley Times, the iPod Touch 6 may come at 4.7-inch with the iPod Touch Plus at 5.5-inch. This is due to the fact that larger screens in gadgets and smartphones are becoming increasingly popular.

The 6^th generation of the iPod Touch is also expected to come out in colors of the day glow variety. The first versions of the iPod Touch were introduced in neon colors, which was an effort to target young buyers. But Stabley Times pointed out that the "specific colors may shift to a new palette in the name of freshness" this time around.

The news outlet also reports that the iPod Touch 6h gen model may come out in the market in early 2015. Apple usually has a pattern for releasing the iPod Touch (for this year it was in September), but the company broke that expectation.

The 6^th gen model of the iPod touch will also most likely use the same components as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and those parts will not be available due to the increasing outstrip supply demand of the newly released smartphone.

Gospel Herald added that the iPod Touch 6^th gen is rumored to launch along with the iOS 8.2 and the wearable Apple iWatch. Christian Today noted that the device is also rumored to feature the digital buddy Siri and Apple Pay, the company's new mobile payment service.

In the midst of all these rumors about the iPod Touch 6^th gen, there are also reports that Apple may not roll out the gadget. The last iPod Touch, the 5^th gen, was released back in 2012.

"With the advent of high-end smartphones that offer everything in a single package, a gadget that plays music and videos becomes insignificant, believed to have no chances of survival in a showground where more capable devices dominate," Christian Today reports.

There are also rumors about the iPod Touch 6^th gen sporting a 4-inch Retina display and a rear-facing camera. The news outlet pointed out that these specifications are promising, but releasing devices with the same features could be one of Apple's setbacks.

The iPod Touch 5^th gen has a 4-inch Retina display, with a 5-megapixel iSight camera. The device is also running on iOS 8 and armed with a dual-core A5 chip. According to Apple, the iPod Touch 5^th gen also sports features such as AirPlay and Siri.

It's still unknown whether the 6^th gen will surpass the iTouch 5^th gen. It's also possible that the 5^th gen will be the last iTouch Apple will release in the market. Until then, users would still have to wait for official news from the company.
