If you have extra cash and would like to splurge on wearable tech gadgets sometime soon, try looking at Mervis Diamond Importers' version of the Apple Watch.
The design in itself is blinding, thanks to eight rows of 15-carat diamonds seated in a band of 18-karat rose gold. That's right -- it's gold, diamonds and everything in between -- all for a price tag that reads $30,150, wrote CNET.
According to the outlet, Mervis is now accepting preorders for the luxury gear. The expected delivery date falls in the middle of 2015. The item was posted as a teaser in a Facebook page earlier this month.
The Apple Watch's starting price has been estimated to come around $349 for the basic version. On the other hand, the Edition (Gold) version which was then speculated to be priced at $1,200, is now expected to retail for $5,000. Nevertheless, the latter appears to be the more expensive type -- until Mervis found a way to make it even more pricey.
ReadWrite reported that there is no difference in terms of the technology packed by the regular Apple Watch and Mervis' diamond-studded version. As obvious as it seems, the little rocks definitely mattered over here, and they're the reason why the wearable came to a five-digit selling situation. The source wrote that each stone took pride, high-graded E/F in color and VS1/VS2 in clarity.
It must be noted that the Apple Watch is also slated to arrive in a Sport version. For this collection, the cases are tailored from lightweight anodized aluminum in silver and space gray. Its fluoroelastomer band will be offered in five different colors.
The Apple Watch brands itself to be an excellent timepiece and body companion. Unlike regular wristwatches, the wearable comes in many customizable faces, all speaking of different ways to tell time. In addition, the watch packs an alarm function, weather temperature, moon phase, timer, calendar, stocks, activity, stopwatch, world clock and sunrise / sunset notifications.
Users can choose to add more details such as minutes, seconds and milliseconds, all for the premise of more precise time-telling.
But more than time functionality, the Apple Watch also appears to be a portable communication device. The wearable allows making calls, sending messages and even new ways of expression through Digital Touch, as featured in Sketch, Tap and Heartbeat functions. With a single glance, users get notified of pending contacts and alerts as necessary.
Also known as the "iWatch," the Apple Watch arrives early in 2015, wrote Apple.
