Rumors about the HTC One M9's release date and speculations have been floating around for quite some time now. But even though the spotlight is focused on the company's upcoming flagship smartphone, HTC One M8 is also making noise in the market.

According to Android Authority, the gold, silver, and gray 32GB LTE HTC M8 will be available in Best Buy for just $29.99 on contract with Verizon, a large discount from its $199.99 normal retail price. For those who do not want to be bound by contracts, the smartphone can be bought at $749.99, International Business Times noted.

HTC One M9, on the other hand, is rumored to be launched in the first quarter of 2015, International Business Times added. The smartphone will reportedly be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress or MWC 2015 held from March 2 to 5 in Barcelona, Spain. HTC is mum about what users can expect from the device, but several reports have been revealing the smartphone's features and specifications.

According to International Business Times, "China-based HTC leaker @upleaks has claimed on its Twitter post that the HTC One (M9) codenamed 'Hima' would sport a 5-inch Full HD display, come packed with 3GB RAM, HTC Sense 7, 20.7MP main camera and 13MP or UltraPixel 4MP front snapper, and 2840mAh battery."

The leak source also added in another tweet that "Hima will be coming to all major carrier in the US, already in testing at carrier lab."

International Business Times also noted that the HTC M9 is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor running on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

A report from GSM Arena also published rumored specifications of HTC's new flagship smartphone. According to the news outlet, the device will sport a 5.5-inch screen display with 2K resolution and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. Aside from these, the smartphone is also rumored to have 3GB of RAM and a "16MP camera with optical image stabilization, 3,500mAh battery, and stereo speakers with Bose."

GSM Arena, however, pointed out that users should not be quick to acknowledge these rumors even though the specs mentioned seem legitimate to appear in a smartphone. "Quite frankly, we will be surprised if the Taiwanese manufacturer's next flagship doesn't ship with 64-bit Snapdragon 810 silicon," the news outlet noted.

Rumors about a "Prime" version of the HTC M9 are also circulating, but there are no concrete details about the report yet, according to GSM Arena.
